About Steve

Steve has been a Class-A Member of the PGA since February 2001. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Steve has been instrumental in advancing golf instruction by using cutting-edge technology and techniques in his students’ lessons. A few of Steve’s instructional components include: Trackman, high speed video analysis, launch monitors, biomechanics, personalized conditioning, fitness, and balance. Once he considers an individual student’s goals, expectations, physical strengths, and weaknesses, he will develop an individualized plan to help each student reach his or her goals. Steve is able to take what is extremely complex and translate it for each student into something he/she can understand, feel, and repeat.

Steve has earned an elite status among PGA Professionals, he learned certifications from Nike's NG360, Titleist Performance Institute for adults and Juniors, Teaching and Coaching Certified from the PGA, US Kids and the Positive Coaching Alliance. All of these certifications trained him to be able to enhance the athleticism and performance of golfers regardless of skill level.

Steve is a two time winner of the Philadelphia PGA Section Player Development Award.

Steve is originally from Lancaster PA where he worked at Conestoga Country Club from 1996-2003. From 2004-2011 Steve was the Head Golf Professional at the State College Elks Country Club. Looking for an opportunity to fulfill his passion for teaching Steve came to Penn State as the Director of Player Development. Steve lives in State College and is married to Melissa and has two sons who can often be found practicing and playing on the golf course.
